Align’s New TREX 700E DFC Helicopter at IRCHA

Jeff Fassbinder is proudly holding the new TREX 700E DFC helicopter from Align. This is the latest in their 700 series of helicopters for either nitro or electric power. The DFC stands for direct flight control because the servo is mounted directly below the swashplate with direct control between the servo arm and swashplate, eliminating the need for bellcranks and other pushrods. Also included is an adjustable swashplate control to the rotorhead, a new leaner profile, a higher tail rotor speed and helical main and autorotation gears that are made from wear resistant Delran. I am currently in the process of reviewing this helicopter and will report on it shortly in Model Airplane News.

Note the cyclic servos are mounted directly below the swashplate allowing for direct control without the need for additional bellcranks or pushrods. The sliding battery tray keeps the batteries secure, but in easy reach for charging. Also note the carbon frames and Delan main and autorotation gears  with helical teeth.
