I went out to our local flying field a few weeks ago to watch our first ever pattern flying contest. I recognize this guy, pushing the plane

It was none other than Andrew Jesky and as always he was all smiles.

Take off! you'll never guess who won in his class :-)

West Coast senior editor About me: I’ve been involved with RC aircraft since high school and have flown just about everything. I started my RC career with scratch-building, but now like many pilots I rely on ARFs to get me in the air. My main focus is on pylon racing, aerobats, combat and scale warbirds.

    I think Andrew is a fine young man to be representing the USA this summer!

    Read your article on high C Lipo batteries. Some thoughts on higher C batteries:
    * Helicopters are perhaps where you notice the most benefit
    * Flatter discharge curve, more energetic flight near end
    * Cooler in summer
    * Don’t bog down near as much when cold in the winter
    * Fly a large 20C battery or a half size and weight 40C battery for half the time and of course a much lighter weight airplane.

    David, I agree with all of what you are saying. These are some additional advantages of higher C-ratings that I did not point out in the article.
