Frank Tiano’s Monster Thunderbolt

Jul 05, 2011 1 Comment by

Everyone who is active in scale and Giant scale RC aircraft, certainly knows the name Frank Tiano. The promoter of Top Gun and Florida Jets as well as the Monster Planes fly in. I just got an email from Frank showing off his latest project.  If you’re curious about how big the P-47s he and the gang are working on are, here are a couple pictures, (that’s Scott Prossen in the photo for size perspective.) The photos were taken in one of FTE’s workshop rooms and you can see that the bird totally consumes the shop floor! 143” wingspan, 120 pounds or so, Moki 400 Radials for power, Sierra Gear, with 10” scale tires by DaVinci Machine.

Franks says he hope to have his flying in “primer” by late August and in full livery for the “Monster Planes” event in October!
