This year’s Kentucky Jets event, held at the Springfield-Lebanon airport, was a weekend full of the best jets from across the country and even around the world. John Raclawski was there to capture the action, and here are some of his favorite photos from the weekend and a summary of the event. Enjoy!

Kentucky Jets is one of the most talked about Jet Rallies in the United States.  Most consider it the super bowl of jet flying.  With it being in the center of the country, this events attracts the most pilots.  Even from the UK and other parts of Europe fly in to take part. Located between Springfield and Lebanon, KY hence the name Springfield-Lebanon Aiport.  This year 170 + registered pilots took part in a 8 day (July 3rd – 10th) jet rally from sun up to sun down.  Friday was the first official day with a little interruption from the weather.  But cleared to open the sky for some long awaited flying.  Once the sun went down, a parade of lights demonstration paved way for a fireworks show presented by Phantom fireworks.  Saturday kicked off open flying and the main events of sportsman and Master class competitions.  By days end, the closing banquet started with a feast of great food followed by pilot raffle prizes, then the trophies awarded to best pilots and best voted aircraft.
