West Coast senior editor About me: I’ve been involved with RC aircraft since high school and have flown just about everything. I started my RC career with scratch-building, but now like many pilots I rely on ARFs to get me in the air. My main focus is on pylon racing, aerobats, combat and scale warbirds.

    Debra Cleghorn–

I’m a site member and can’t navigate anywhere to watch the rest of the videos. I’ve spent an hour signed in trying to find all of the videos. I’m sick of seeing the advertisement at the end of the video to join the web site and see all four videos. How does one find things on this site anyway?

Hi Jim — the member site is a completely different place than the free site. When you’re on the home page (www.modelairplanenews.com), there is at the upper right. Click on “Model Airplane News Membership Site” and it will take you to the log-in page. Email me direct at debrac@airage.com if you have any more issues logging in.

john reid, could you give me a hint on what is a good starting tempature, i have a trackpower model 950 and no matter where i look i can’t seem to find out how someone would find a starting point. your 4 part series is great, hope you can help, thanks, tom

I always use the highest temperature I can set on the soldering iron. That way the iron transfers the heat quickly to the part and solder.
