Operating Temperature, what causes it in ESCs?

How hot is too hot, we all know that heat is damaging to our batteries, ESCs and motors.  But what causes it and how can we keep it under control. Lee Estingoy from Castle Creations tell us what cause excess heat and at what throttle setting you can expect to see more heat generated in your ESC.
