Skookum’s New GPS Unit

Here is Branden Taylor, Robert Ramsey and Art Vanden Berg of Skookum Robotics with their new SK-GPS, which is an addition to their flybarless flight control systems.

This GPS system will allow your helicopter to autonomously hold a specific position and altitude, which is adjustable while flying. Also, should you get disoriented while flying it will prevent the helicopter from going below your predetermined hard deck altitude, and on your command will autonomously fly your helicopter back to a predetermined home location. This GPS also incorporates an Omni directional antenna so it will maintain a GPS lock while flying 3-D. This new technology will be great for every level of pilot from novice to expert to help prevent crashes as we perfect our flying skills.
