One Million Pounds in the air!

One Million Pounds in the air!

Here is something you don’t  see everyday, a million pounds in the air. Capt. Stemer commanded the RC521, the second 747-8 Freighter, into defying gravity and lifting more than 1 million pounds into the air. This plane just looks heavy as it rolls down the runway. “It’s a big deal for us and as an […]

Spitfire Masterpiece

Spitfire Masterpiece

This is one outstanding model, a scratch built 1/5th scale Supermarine Spitfire MK 1 by an English model builder. The pictures and accompanying text are by the model maker, David Glen. I wish I could make something this great. The job took well over eleven years, during which there were times he very nearly came […]
Learning how to become a fighter pilot, Russian style.

Learning how to become a fighter pilot, Russian style.

Here is a great way to become a fighter pilot, virtual RC.  All you have to learn after this is how to work through the G’s while making some of those turns.  This is definitely a much cheaper way to train fighter pilots.

A cool looking Red Tail

A cool looking Red Tail

I got some images of this great looking Red Tail Mustang from Rick Steinport along with this little note: I have just finished rebuilding my Parkzone Micro P-51 and making it into a Tuskegee flyer.  The tail was taped off and sprayed  as was the nose cone for the prop. The red was a Krylon Short Cuts spray […]
Giant Electric Corsair Flies!

Giant Electric Corsair Flies!

Our good friend Lee Estingoy from Castle Creations finished up his giant scale electrified CARF-Models F4U-1D Corsair and logged in his first flight on it.   Lee was happy to, as he put it, finally get this bird in the air. He goes on to say: Couldn’t have asked for a better flying plane or power […]
Can you tell which one is the pilot?

Can you tell which one is the pilot?

Here is a great photo of a plane that was hung up on a wire. I think the person in the back is the rescuer worker and the person in front is the pilot, but I could be wrong.  Does anyone want to take a guess, or even better, does anyone know the story behind this photo.
Hangar 9 P-47 Thunderbolt Exclusive!
