Eagle Defeats Drone

Eagle Defeats Drone

In a scene reminiscent of “Wild Kingdom,” an Australian wedge-tailed eagle decided it had enough of the pesky Kestrel drone that was being tested in the eagle’s airspace. It didn’t take long for the eagle to dispatch the interloper and fly off with it. Prior to the incident, the small Kestrel drone was testing a method of “surfing” updrafts around large buildings. Score one for the eagle!

  1. dont you just hate it when that happens

  2. That is not a kestrel drone. It is a Dream Flight Alula side arm launch RC glider. One of my favorite RC gliders of all time.

  3. It’s not a “drone”… It’s a remote controlled aircraft, commonly called an airplane.

  4. Doesn’t look like a ‘drone’ to me but a radio controlled glider.

    1. Is the popular consensus now considering everything with a reciever a drone?

    2. Yep – Dreamflight Alula – DLG. Looks like there is a mod to the control system that may be attempting to autonomously influence gliding…

  5. It is amazing to me that the editors of an RC magazine does not know the difference between a simple rc glider and a drone.

  6. it looks like a baited video look at 1:41
