E-Fest: electrics raise the roof (literally!)

What’s the best way to shake the mid-winter blues? The E-Fest indoor fly-in in the University of Illinois armory in Champaign, IL! Contributor Jim Ryan was on hand, and he sent us this photo highlight reel, including some brand-new releases!

Terry Nitsch brought the "Prize Blimp" all the way from Columbus, OH.  The blimp flew regular sorties all weekend, dropping prize certificates, cash and other goodies.  Here you can see the extremely high ceiling in the 100 year old Armory building.

Hobbico's booth was busy all weekend, particularly with young pilots trying out RealFlight 7.5, the latest version of Great Planes' outstanding flight sim.

Tim Lavender traveled from Nashville, TN to win the eFest Scale competition with this nifty stick and tissue Curtiss Robin.  Tim is a fixture in Flying Aces (FAC) free flight and brings a bunch of R/C conversions to indoor events like eFest.

JR's booth featured their brand-new 3-bladed version of the outstanding Forza 450.  The rigid damperless head brings the advantages of the larger 3-bladed NEX to a 450-size package.  This heli is a beauty.
