Rhinebeck Jamboree 2010

44th Annual Old Rhinebeck RC Jamboree

When you think of something as bring a “classic,” you usually envision something that’s just about perfect and, something that’s been that way for a very long time. By this definition, the RC Jamboree held each year at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, in Rhinebeck, NY is indeed the very embodiment of a classic success.
Hosted annually by the Mid-Hudson Radio Control Society (MHRCS,) the 2010 Jamboree celebrated its 44th anniversary and it did this on a picture perfect weekend. With brilliant cobalt blue skies and hundreds of classic, vintage and WW1 era RC models, this year’s extravaganza was one of the best examples in recent memory. Starting on Friday, the Jamboree has become a 3-day event. As long as there was light, the flying never stopped except of course for the full-size airshow.

This year the Model Airplane News crew spent the weekend at the Aerodrome and shot some amazing action photos and even interviewed a few of the personalities they ran into. For the full coverage watch for the January 2011 issue of Model Airplane News.
