Hosted by the Mid-Hudson RC Society club, the annual WW1 and vintage RC Jamboree is open to all aircraft from 1909 – 1939 time period. This is a sanctioned AMA event and membership cards are required. The event is held at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinbeck, NY and Registration begins 8AM Friday.
Several awards are given and there is open flying all weekend except when full-size aircraft are using the runway.

One hundred years ago this year, 18 model airplane clubs competed in the three events that comprised the 1915 National Model Aeroplane Competition, with hopes of winning the Henry S. Villard Trophy. The Academy of Model Aeronautics has plans to reenact this event and celebrate its centennial.
Participants will have the opportunity to build a Free Flight fantasy club worthy of taking home the Villard Trophy. After extensive research in Aerial Age Weekly, AMA has been able to provide the names and results of the modelers who competed in the original contest in 1915.
AMA will post the competitors who competed in each of the three events in the online competition weekly, and participants will choose four of the competitors to join their fantasy club. Each competitor will win points based on how well he or she places in the reenacted 1915 contest. The total of all the points is the fantasy score for that particular contest.
The competitors and scorecards for the first event, Hand Launched Distance, were posted on July 16, 2015, and the information will be updated weekly.

The best WW1 competition event in the tri-state area! Hosted by the Long Island Skyhawks at the club’s flying field, this event is for IMAA giant scale Pre-1919 RC aeroplanes.
Pilot fee $25 which includes Pilot Raffle, Saturday evening BBQ and award presentations at the field.
Events include: Best Bomb Drop, Spot Landing, Balloon Bust
Awards for: Best Central Powers Monoplane, and Multi-wing, Best Allied Monop,ane and Multi-Wing and Pilot’s Choice
Registration opens at 8:00AM Friday AMA card required, all IMAA rules apply.

This is the one show that brings out the excitement and enjoyment of anything that has to do with radio control. Interactive display and demos were nonstop throughout both days, making it impossible to see everything in one day. RCX is planes, cars, trucks, boats, helis, diecast, pro racers, pro pilots, Try Me tracks, flight simulators, beautiful models and tons of action!
