1/5-scale RC F9F Cougar

1/5-scale RC F9F Cougar

Flown by Toby Newton, this 1/5-scale Navy jet looks and sounds like the real deal! Powered by a Merlin 160 turbine, the 85-inch-span model is controlled by a JR radio system and has a Tailored Pilots figure in the cockpit for the final finishing touch. Thanks to Dean and Pete Coxon for taking this great video at the RAF Cosford meet held by the UK’s Large Model Association.

  1. I only can see a small blog with this article, but I have to say this. The airplane is beautiful and well done rendition of the Cougar but is missing something. The fella did a great job building it but the lady who supports his hobby there with him is not mentioned, that should be as almost important as the airplane itself. A lot of wives have no interest but when you have one that does, she needs to be recognized. Other than that, great video.

    1. Good flying and a beautiful plane. I have to agree with Terry White.. My ex-wife hated this hobby. She thought it better for me to sit at a Bar drinking then to be flying.. All wives who support this hobby should be honorably mentioned..

  2. Sweet……..nice job!!!

  3. When is the model going to fly I was glued to every second
Well done looked and sounded like the real thing

  4. Looks like a good flying plane and excellent build. I wonder what the Vne is with the canopy open?

  5. Hey lady.. Get over it. It’s not about a support group, it’s not even about him… The Plane-The Plane.
Great work. I hope to see it at monster planes.

  6. What kind of glasses is the pilot wearing?

  7. Say, is Debra related to Hazel Cleghorn in Walker, MN? Hazel’s active in the CAP up there.
