If there is a place where the passion of RC melds together with the magic of vintage Aviation history, it has to be the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, in NY. Each year the second weekend in September, the time barriors fold together and bring the best of antique aeroplanes and RC scale models in a way that’s very special.
Friday is the official setup day and for those in the know, it is the best day to try out the skies over the aerodrome. No pressure and less of a cue for the flightline spots are the reward for those who show up early.
This year, the Friday Jamboree day saw plenty of great scale RC models and a fair share of full-size vintage airplanes! Check out the gallery for the first day’s antics!
