Model Airplane News contributor and WW II warbird expert PJ Ash has an impressive collection of military RC aircraft. Recently, Rich Uravitch caught up with him to get the lowdown on the newest addition to his Active Flight Status log, in the form of this nicely done Junkers Ju 88. Believe it or not, this plane was rebuilt from a engine out crash and PJ put it back together and upgraded the engines at the same time. The Junkers sports a winter camouflage scheme, and this detailed warbird is just a great looking giant scale project.
Here’s what PJ had to say about his imposing Luftwaffe bomber.

O.k. – If we got a bunch of micro drones and loaded them in the bombay, we could have ” Fifty shades of Grey” ( the bomber that is) delivering “drones”, which is a thousand times cooler than Amazon trying to use a drone to deliver Fifty Shades of Grey!!! (Disaster by the way!)
Kudos to a very nice aircraft!
Great looking Ju 88! How do we get in touch with PJ Ash if we wanted to build one of these? I understand it is from englarged Don Smith plans, but we would still need cowls, canopies and gear. Anyone know how to get in touch with PJ?
Again, a fantastic looking aircraft, congratulations on the successful rebuild and fly.

Great looking airplane but I would have liked seeing it flying instead of just a walk around.
This is actually a night fighter variant painted in a night camouflage. Never trust appearances…
Pretty dam good ! A#1
