Joggobot: a quadcopter running companion

Joggobot: a quadcopter running companion

Just when you think you’ve heard the strangest stories about quadcopters, there comes another one. Case in point: the Joggobot is a smart quadcopter that orients itself using images on a runner’s t-shirt and can help the runner to keep pace, challenge him or her to run faster and even dance with the runner. No joke! Check this video out and tell us what you think: super cool or super creepy?

  1. Very interesting!
    How much is it?

    1. Sorry — it’s a prototype and not in production (yet!). Looks like an AR Parrot Drone with special features added.

  2. What happens if you run into a wall?

    1. Do you mean if IT runs into a wall or you run into a wall? The quadcopter looks like an AR Parrot Drone, so it’s pretty sturdy and would basically just fall down. If you run into a wall … ouch! 🙂

    2. You hit the joggobot because it has already hit the wall first lol

  3. When will it be available?

    1. Not sure when/if it will be available to the public, but you can be sure that we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything!

  4. Creepy….. your girlfriend will buy one to follow u around whole day n transmit her pictures!

    1. It brings new meaning to the term, “helicopter parents!” I can see it now … a park full of these, watching the little ones.

  5. Everyone should enjoy the hobby, programming these things are fun. Go for it!

However, it hardly works in a straight line and I’m willing to bet it will not work on an oval track or especially a park trail.

  6. How do you catch it to turn it off?LOL

  7. And the wind? Where is it? Imagine what happens to the joggobot with just a little breeze. This is only to use indoors….and it has to be a big one.

  8. Does our AMA insurance cover something like this?

  9. I like it. I think that it would be cool to help with a good workout.

  10. I would feel like it the joggobot was inhibiting me from running faster because it’s in front of me.
