  1. I sincerely hope multi rotors fade into oblivion. They are a scourge on the hobby..

  2. 70mm & 80mm EDF jets powered by 6s batteries are striking a balance of performance, scale details, and affordability that are hard to resist! We will see a lot more of them.

    Also, hoping for plug-n-play HD head-tracking FPV setup for fixed wing like DJI Mavic/Goggles. It’s too good to be restricted to quad-rotors only.

  4. Well, I’m hoping for more micro-scale type helos & fixed-wings. Call me a geek, but FPV & 3-D just don’t do it for me.

    1. Indoor and micro RC is a cool way to enjoy flight even when it is cold and windy outside. I enjoy WW1 dogfights during our Club’s indoor fun fly nights!

  5. B1 bomber with 4x 64mm ducted fans powered by 2x 6s batteries with functional sweep wings and bomb bay. Servoless retracts of course.

    C17 with 4x 70mm fans would also be awesome.

  6. I love everything Extreme flight RC and there new brands are building!! Legacy aviation is the scale company of the future! There turbo duster, bush master, and muscle coup are all big reliable electric 4s-6s planes that are float ready! Watch aces high for there new scale warbirds! All with EF’s original quality and flight standards.

  7. I’d like to see more larger-sized SAFE-type aircraft at reasonable prices. Planes like the Carbon-Z Cessna 150 from Horizon is a good start, but with more options in the level of completeness. Most of us have servos, motors, ESCs, receivers, etc. lying around from previous projects. The Cessna 150 price, at $400, is good, but still a major stretch for those of us on a limited/fixed budget.

  10. Regrettably, the “Heavy” airliners and civil airplanes (i.e. Cessna 421) are fading in part due to lackluster interest, pricing and especially, cost for shipping; even used ones. But I enjoy them enough that I’ve invested in scratch build techniques, such as vacuum forming parts to preserve my current fleet and to create new ones. The latest Model Airplane News edition provided some very noteworthy tips! Thanks

  11. RC aeromodeling’s decline will continue. Why?
    Because of the current “promotion” system. Clubs are non profit oriented as opposed to profit oriented industry members, who depend on clubs for hands-on promotion duties. Connect the dots.

  12. In case anyone is interested, I do indeed have a proven means to a solution.
    All I ask is for anyone in the industry to come to my area so that I can teach them how to easily attract and keep new customers, club and AMA members.

    All I need or want is just ONE person to learn this proven promotion/training technique then she or he can pass this on to others and so on. What would anyone have to lose? No charge what-so-ever.

  13. My guess is that no one is interested. Bought a MAN and found that it had very few pages. RC aeromodeling is hanging on by a thin tread and no one has any idea on how to save it.

  14. I was a scratch builder for more than 30 years. Moving into a new home with less hobbyspace made me by ARF’s for the first time… They are great models and are superior to my scratchbuilds due to using jigs. Fly IMAC and F3a mainly. So much less models in the .40 .50 e-class. Also far too many outdoor ‘foamies’. They just do not fly like a balsa plane. Balsa planes are the best

  15. Maybe AMA’s new hire, Membership Acquisition Lead will find a solution.

    The membership will not take responsibility for their own hobby’s decline.
    After all, AMA and the industry cannot make any headway with the cooperation of the 180K (?) members. Now the FAA is more or less in control. The only loser here will be the RC fixed wing aeromodelling community.
    This new hire says there just might be a tiny speck of light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, that will not present itself when/if the pandemic is controlled. Hopefully, next flying season. Time will tell.
