Top Gun Editor’s Picks — Notable Aircraft

Top Gun Editor’s Picks — Notable Aircraft

The Model Airplane News event coverage for the 2012 Top Gun Scale Invitational will be in the August 2012 issue. This year we have an expanded presentation with dozens of amazing photos taken by our ace photographer David Hart. But let’s face it! With so many amazing and beautifully executed scale aircraft flying over five days, Top Gun offers a unique challenge. There’s just too many planes to show every one in just one article—unless we used postage stamp size photos! Here a gallery of some amazing photos that just did not make it into the main layout! David shot all of the amazing flight shots, but these are some of the editor’s favorites! Beware… there are a couple crash pix too!

  1. Outstanding photos!!

  2. The pics are awesome. It seems that this year many good ones ran out of air space….splat. I need to get this DVD. How did the video this year. Now that Prop Wash is no longer doing it?

  3. I would like to contact the owner of the P 47 D razorback. I am commisssioning one to duplicate my fathers plane flown for the 359th FS

  4. Great photos. For those of us who do not travel in such elite company it’s helpful to know that they, too, dump one occasionally.

  5. Great Photos! We liked the video interview with “Mr. Top Gun” as well (when will there be a Mrs. or Ms. Top Gun?).

We have several videos from Top GUn 2012 RC Airshow on our site. You might be interested in checking them out!
