We are always chatting with our friends and contributors and like to talk RC and scale when ever we can. Recently our good buddy Whitney Philbrick of the Mid-Hudson RC Society completed a very nice project. It is a BH Models ARF F4U Corsair with a 90″ wingspan. It weighs in at approximately 23lbs., and is controlled with twin 10-channel receivers driven by an Airtronics SD-10G 2.4GHz radio system. Power comes from a ZDZ 50cc engine and for signal redundancy Whit installed twin NoBS A123 Li-Ion battery packs (one per receiver) and one more for the Ignition system.

Whitney didn’t use the stock decals that came with the plane and instead painted the marking on with Lustrekote and a flat clear overall to dull down the Oracover covering. The Corsair is also equipped with flaps, retracts and functional gear doors.
Nice Job Whitney. Looking forward to seeing this one fly at the upcoming Warbirds over Deleware event in July!
