Workshop Weekend

Workshop Weekend

I really had a great weekend. My wife and My daughter Rebecca went to the sound and went clamming so it was me and the doggies home alone! I worked on my Stearman rebuild and it came out pretty good! Everything works great with the new radio, servos, receiver battery pack and the new fuel system. The old Zenoah G-38 fired up on the 4th or 5th flip! Sweet! I am lucky enough to have Nick Ziroli Sr. and Jr. as friends and when I told Nicky Jr. I was looking for something to hang a radial engine on (future Christmas present) :^) Nick gave me his old Stearman that had been hanging over his full size PT-17 in his hangar. It turned out to be a nice project… All I have to do now is reassemble it so I can check the balance before heading down to the Warbirds over Delaware meet this coming Thursday!

Zenoah G-38 turning a Menz 18×8 prop at 8000rpm! Nice. the Idle is about 2000.

With the dummy radial engine covering the G-38, the Stearman looks real nice. I can’t wait to see what an Evolution 7-77 looks like hanging on the firewall!
