Here’s the wing saddle area is shown with the blind-nut in place for the bottom wing attachment bolt. Notice the filler material supporting the the nut plate and the interlocking construction.
Here the landing gear area is being built up. Notice the wood sleeves slipped over the stout aluminum landing gear. The plans and instructions are very well illustrated and extremely detailed making this build very modeler-friendly.
Here the builtup wood sleeve is being mated to the side of the fuslage.
Wood sleeve forms a neat slot for the gear to fit into, and provides good support for covering material.
Here’s some of the aft fuselage formers and the tail block pieces in place.
Tail feathers set into place to check alighment. Starting to look like a Stearman.
Here is the firewall (fuselage is upside down) along with the landing gear and wing cabanes strut socket pieces in place. Installing the motor mount blind nuts before installing the firewall is a must.
excellent build log, and a really nice model choice, how’s the progress and is there aflight report coming?
