Over many years, the legendary Bob Hoover proved to millions of onlookers just how capable the Aero Commander really is. He would take his green and white Aero Commander Shrike and put it through an impressive array of aerobatic maneuvers – first with both, then one, then none of the engines running. Not a bad performance for a plane that was designed as a business class twin.
BH Models has just released a beautiful 81” ARF of the Aero Commander Shrike. The roughly 1/7 scale twin is designed to be powered by two .46 2-stroke engines and comes complete with air operated, shock absorbing retracts that not only cleans up the airframe, but also brings out its great lines.
Our frequent contributor Michael York examines this model from start to finish and lets you know what he likes about it. You can check out his complete review in the April Issue of Model Airplane News. Until then enjoy this video and some great photos from our photo shoot.
