Construction articles & plans: We need your help!

Construction articles & plans: We need your help!

It isn’t a secret that ARF models are the planes of choice for many of our readers, but we know that there are still many of you who enjoy building a model from scratch. So why are there fewer construction articles than in years past? There’s a simple reason: we just don’t get as many construction article submissions! Why is that? Designing and building a plane is time-consuming enough, and when you add all of the photo documentation and plans “tweaking” that comes with a published construction article, well … there’s your answer. The same goes for scratch-building technique articles: with fewer people building from kits and plans, there are fewer willing to put in the time to take photos and write an article.

So  where does your help come in? Encourage your flying buddy who designs and builds a new plane every few years to document his next project and send it to us. And if you’re in the middle of your latest project, why not document some area of construction, like covering or making the cowl? Add a shot of your finished plane on the flightline and you have a great article for publication! Not sure about what photos to take or lighting, etc? Send me a note and I’ll be happy to help: debrac@airage.com. I hope to hear from you soon!
