  1. Certainly a gorgeous example of fine craftsmanship and scale detail- congratulations on a great build!!

    And equally stunning is why German aerodynamic engineers, having access to the fairly advanced theory, practice, and wind tunnels of 1929 aircraft design would choose to invest so much money and time in arranging 12 engines in 6 push-pull tandem pods when the end-result calculations indicated mediocre performance, noise and vibration issues, and the hassle of keeping 12 engines running at the same time. No doubt the “ghost of Howard Hughes” is still laughing about the DO-X.
