Exclusive Sneak Peek — Spektrum DX 18

Exclusive Sneak Peek — Spektrum DX 18

Wow! I am working on my review of the new DX18 radio system from Spektrum. Featuring 10 channels and expandable to 18, this radio system is pretty impressive. Here’s a short-list of functions and features!

Getting acquainted  When you first take grab hold of the DX18 transmitter you’ll notice its nice No-Slip Rubber Grips making the radio extremely comfortable in your hands. The Control Sticks are extremely smooth with quad-bearing gimbals and the sticks are adjustable in length and tension. For a short list of programming features there’s: 3 Model Types (Heli Aircraft and Sailplane), 50 model memory, 10 Airplane Wing Types, 6 Airplane Tail Types, 5 Sailplane Wing Types, 3 sailplane Tail Types, 6 Helicopter Swash Types, the popular Spektrum  Scroll-n-click Programming Interface, Built-In Telemetry and the Spektrum Data Interface to name just a few.

And just what till you get a load of the Built-in Sequencer! Awesome!!!

  1. You haven’t mentioned the dual transmitter aerials that maintain a solid 100% data link with the “receiver”……….in fact, the other end of the full time two way datalink.
They work as dual diversity, simple steerable array antennas regardless of the actual polarisation of the antennas.
Spektrum is way ahead of all other manufacturers …………

My compoletely independent technical appraisal is in not connected with any part of the Horizon business.

  2. I HAVE A DX-7 WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT AND THIS WILL PROBABLY BE MY LAST ONE,DOES IT HAVE A “BEAM ME UP SCOTTY BUTTON”.
ALSO WILL THE DX-7 RECEIVERS WORK ON THIS .?

  3. Nigel! You are correct! The DX18 does have twin antennas. One in the normal location and a second 90 degrees to the first housed in the hand grip in the back of the case! Lots more great features to come in my upcoming review in MAN

  4. I just saw this Radio in person this weekend at a fun fly.Wow what a radio, very light,i was really impressed with the features! Paul Dufek
