Local and positive PR (public Relations) is very important to our hobby. A great way to do this is to get your club featured on a local or regional TV news show. my club, the Central CT RC Club of Farmington, CT did just that and here’s the video spot that was shown on Channel 61 on the Fox CT news show.
Getting the word out about your club is easier than you think. Just contact the local papers and/or the TV stations. Go online and check the “Local Scene” and Local Living sections to give them your information. If you don’t already have one, it is always a good idea to have a PR manager on your club’s officer’s list. Local home- and trade-shows as well as Mall shows are other great venues for getting the word out.
