Giant Scale Compilation

Giant Scale Compilation

Check out this compilation of giant-scale RC aircraft, including a monster RC Concorde! 1/6 scale doesn’t sound like much, but on a Concord it makes this RC jet 34 feet long! For comparison, a full-size Cessna Skyhawk is 27 feet long. Powered by four turbine engines, this jet is a smooth flier. Any thoughts on how to transport it to the field?

  1. sORRY: nOT iNTERESTED IN 34′ LONG mODEL aIRPLANES!

  2. I second Joe Nagy. Other than the wow factor not interested. Not realistic for 99.9% of members.

    1. I’m not even feeling the wow factor. Once you get too a certain large size, you might as well be inside it and piloting the aircraft yourself.

  3. SAME LENGTH AS THE RUNWAY I USE AT THE PARK TO FLY

  4. I can’t see how one could not be interested in the people that have the money and the skills to get into the giant scale aircraft. I myself could never afford that part of the hobby but, I think it’s great that someone can show us what can be done and it’s great fun to watch these things perform!

    1. i agree 100%

  5. Love it! That is sooo cool….wow!

  6. We all have our individual interests, but it’s always fascinating to see what others are doing in our hobby. Thanks for sharing the stories!

  7. All of the giant scale models that have shown are from Europe. Can you image the reaction of the FAA and Homeland Security to a model of that size in the U.S. I guess Europe has a much less of a problem with terrorism than we do. As for the size, how do you get it to the flying field.

  8. Told my wife in the 1960’s that models were getting so big the government set up rules would not like. In the 1950’s our RC was 84″. We were using very crude radio equipment, single channel.
