The Great Planes Matt Chapman Eagle 580 .46-.81 GP/EP ARF is designed to accept glow or electric power and it offers dramatic 3D potential with the looks of an air show favorite – all in a popular .46 size!  The Eagle showcases Great Planes’ finest ARF construction with the main assemblies arriving built and covered, the control surfaces (except the rudder) pre-hinged and the cockpit complete with an installed pilot bust.  Featuring minimal weight and assembly time, the Eagle 580 shows mounting set-ups for glow or brushless electric power and the distinctive Embry-Riddle trim scheme will have everyone’s attention.

  • There’s plenty of room in the Eagles 580’s fuselage to install on-board equipment.  Powerful magnets secure the hatch but allow easy removal and reattachment.
  • The foam-core, balsa-sheeted wing and stabilizer halves slide together onto carbon fiber joiner tubes, aligning automatically.  Assembly is easy and epoxy-free.
  • The tail control surfaces are airfoiled for crisp, clean flight performance.  All control surfaces are large for 3D maneuvers.
