All the clouds and rain we had yesterday turned into a perfect Friday for flying helicopters. Clear blue skies with just a few clouds, a light wind and low humidity. It could not have been better.
The day started off with Bill Pirschel of Mt Stering, KY, and his 30 pound Odyssey Turbine helicopter. Bill is a machinest and custom made the cnc head, tail rotor, frame and most other parts on the helicopter. It uses a Jakadofsky turbine producing 6 1/2 hp, and it flies as good as it looks. This has to be a labor of love.
