Joe Nall 2014 is now history, but it certainly kicked off the flying season with gusto. With beautiful weather at Triple Tree most of the week and the largest turnout in its 30 plus year history, RC enthusiast from around the world proved that model aviation is alive and well.
With so many thousands of aircraft, pilots, and spectators, it’s difficult to condense the week into a short review. From cutting edge technology FPV systems to stick and rudder classics, every genre of aircraft was represented in force at the Nall.
Even though flying was the focus of the event, Joe Nall is really about the people. From Peter Stroukoff with his whimsical flying poodles to the husband and wife turbine duo Bob and Stephanie Rembert, it was a chance to meet all types of modelers and make new acquaintances. The hobby is so much richer when shared. During the day, pilots would help one another tune engines, make needed repairs, and spot for each other on the flight line. At night, campfires were surrounded by old friends catching up on life over the previous year. Triple Tree is a special place.
As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words”, so here’s a brief look into Joe Nall Week 2014.
If we didn’t see you there, it’s not too late to start planning for 2015. We’ll save a spot for you!
