  1. 45 years or so my dad is an enthusiast, so the first weekends of my life started at the flying field.

  2. My father was an engineer/top turrent gunner on a B-24 Liberator in WW2, and was also a private pilot. Being born color blind prevented me from pursuing any future in flying, so I focused on RC aircraft after being exposed to the hobby back in the early eightys. I would buy a kit, build and cover it, but couldn’t work up the nerve to fly it. Back to the hobby shop I’d go with the finished, un-flow…n plane, and the owner would hang it up for sale. The first one sold in less than 48 hours, so I purchased a different model. This process repeated itself month after month…. Buy – Build – Sell…. I didn’t know anyone that knew how to fly nor was I aware of any flying clubs in or around my aera. After about two years of building and not flying, I gave it up. Fast forward to 2007 when my sister bought me a little electric ARF that had throttle and rudder only, both non proportional…….That’s right, no elevator, and no ailerons. I taught myself to fly with that little bird, and I went through several of them in the process. Now I love to fly and share with others what I have learned over the years. Remember the passion, Keep ’em Flying….

  3. Been flying both Helis and planes for about three years …

  4. I’ve been flying a couple years now. I started this hobby with an IR micro heli from a local electronics store. From there, an MSR, micro P-51 and micro J-3. Then my first “real” plane, a used Eflight Taylorcraft. It was all over after that! Now a T-28, Corsair, 40″ AJ Slick, F-15 EDF, MCPX, and a T-Rex 450. I would love to own a Habu, but not quite in the budget.

  5. My name is Michael Gross. My father, Mike Gross taught my brother and I to fly gliders in the 80’s. I have been involved in RC since. I have been primarily building and flying giant scale warbirds since 2005.

  6. My name is Mark Betuzzi. My father taught flying during WW 2. Dad introduced me to the wonderful world of airplanes on my 12th birthday. He took me for a ride in a Cessna 172. Soon after I bought a Cox control line setup. About 20 years ago I joined the RC world and have been hooked ever since.
    Mark.

  7. I have been interested in aviation most of my life. As a boy I modelled plastic and small balsa aircraft. At age 21, I obtained my private pilots Licence. A few years later I purchased a Sig Citabria kit. Nearly twenty years later, I learned to fly with a Sig Kadet Lt-40. In the last four years, I have flown r/c airplanes and this year my twelve year old son is learning to fly the same Kadet. We also fly micro-helicopters indoors and I have learned forward flight with a 450 series heli. Since purchasing the Heli’s, I have become interested in electric flight. I have just converted my Hangar 9 RV-8 from .46 glow engine to an electric brushless outrunner. My son and I enjoy meeting people in the hobby and learning from others. It’s a great way for a father and son to spend time together.
