One of a Kind Messerschmitt

One of a Kind Messerschmitt

Although the full-size German Me P.1110 was never produced, you can tell from this 1/3-scale RC version that it would have been a force to reckon with during WW II. Designed to be a high-altitude, jet-powered interceptor, it was intended as a deterrent to Allied bombing raids but the war ended before it could be put into production. Roland Meier’s 9-foot-span, wood-construction model is 12 feet long and powered by a Frank V Raptor turbine. Our thanks to RCScaleAirplanes for sharing this great flight footage.

  1. I am “speechless” “congrats” respect !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Thank you for your compliments. Much appreciated !

  2. Great model! It does show one reason why so many lives were lost at Normandy. The allies could not wait any longer to invade as they were being outclassed by German land, sea and air technology.

    1. Thanks Steve. That’s an interesting point of view !!!

  3. Incredible. Well done guys. That must have been many long hours, days and sleepless nights to plan and execute but what an immeasurable ‘moment’ for you. Bravo

Yes. It was a big challange because without having a flying role model you never know what happend during the maiden.

  7. Ever wonder why most airfields whether RC or real that there’s power line towers or bird sanctuaries or on migration routes of birds, near communities that build up around them, I couldn’t help noticed that at the end of this clubs runway there’s those big power line towers….. Guess looking for a place there for RC clubs is at a premium…. But still couldn’t find a bit better location??

    1. You’re right but unfortunately there are too many power lines in our small country.
Due to the camera zoom the power line near to this airfield looks closer than it is. But during this event a warbird lost it’s wing by hidding the line. The footage will be shown at the “MOMENTS 2015” on my YT channel end of this year.
Thanks for watching and commenting !!!

  8. outstanding project but needs a pilot!

    1. Thank you.
Due to the fact that there does not exist pictures or planes of the cockpit, Roland built it too small and therefore there is no place for an 1/3 scaled pilot.
As far as I know, he will modify the cockpit in order that this beautiful model will have a pilot.

  11. Very nice flight of this beautiful aircraft. Impressed with the landing it looks like a challenge to fly at low speed!

  12. Great build. No pilot needed.

  13. Maybe next flight you could out in a camera? That would make the roll maneuver really cool to see! Great work!!
