Road to Top Gun — Marco Benincasa, Hawk 100

We’ve just heard from our good friend and editor of the Italian RC Model magazine Modellistica and he let us know that for this year’s Top Gun, he will be flying a new model, the Hawk 100 from a Skymaster kit.

He no longer has his impressive F100 (he sold it) so he sent us some pics of his new plane. It has a 79 inch span and is 94.5 inches long. The model is not being painted at the factory.  He got it in a white base coat and then painted it  in Italy with the correct colors for his subject airplane. All lettering and insignias are being made by Tailor made in Germany. The Hawk is powered by a Evojet VX 160 and it’s flown with a Futaba T18MZ.

Looks great, we can’t wait to see Marco flying it at the event!

  1. Nice build, but isn’t the Hawk 100 in RC jet modeling kinda like a Chevy Malibu, …. everyone has one, nothing special and a yawner??? (Even Korean War vintage Migs, Cougars and Sabre’s are far too plentiful to be noteworthy). Not impressed and not worthy of notability. The giant scale “teaser” WWI SPAD for this Top Gun spread would have been far more interesting to. MAN gets a D- grade.
