Meet Robo-Fly, the world’s smallest flying robot

This teensy flyer just moved to the top of our “must have” list! Built from carbon-fiber, this robo-fly developed by Harvard researchers weighs a fraction of a gram and is quite agile in flight. Tiny robots like these could eventually be used in rescue operations in collapsed buildings and other tight spaces. Check out the video!

  1. Can not find the video link

    1. There isn’t a link; it’s a box at the bottom of the post. When I view that blog in Explorer, it’s black and has a ghosted arrow to press to make the video play. Hope this helps!

  2. Neat! But tethered, it is limited severely. Lacks wireless control and self contained power. Without that it’s not much more than a desktop toy. How would you put a camera on it with a transmitter powerful enough to be useful for example? It would need gyros, stabilizing features, GPS, long range, and so on.. Technology will advance I’m sure, and it certainly represents an advance. In it’s current state however, it’s cool, but thats about it.

  3. It may be limited now, but even the Wright brothers had to start somewhere.
